What Do You Give Your True Love For Valentines Day?

Having been married for an incredible 18 years this year, I am clear that my dear husband is indeed my true love, and for that I am forever blessed and grateful.

We were discussing our plans for Valentines Day at the end of last week, and as always our initial thoughts were that we didn’t need a special day to acknowledge our love, as we take care of each other throughout the year.  Not for us the tacky hallmark cards, the overbooked restaurants or cheesy inflatable heart balloons.  No. We were quite sure that we had enough romance in our lives without the need for someone to tell us on which day to be romantic, thank you very much.

At the end of the conversation I felt unexpectedly sad. Somewhat frustratingly for my dear husband, who had just returned from a long business trip to the UK, and was in desperate need of some shut eye, rather than to discuss the matter further, I needed to examine this feeling of sadness more closely.  On further inspection, it turned out that we hadn’t been terribly romantic over the last few weeks, that life had indeed got in the way again and taken priority over our care and love of each other, and that actually having a day where we could unashamedly pamper, spoil and romance each other could be no bad thing!

So, to the title of this little blog post – what do you give your true love on Valentines Day? Immediately, thoughts turn to chocolates, champagne, breakfast in bed etc etc.  But it occurs to me that the best gift of all is more of the person you love! And in order to do that, you need to keep that person (and yourself) healthy and well to be around with them for longer.  Thus, surely the best gift of all is a happy and healthy heart!

So, for Valentines Day this year, why not mix it up a bit, and give your true love a glass of this delicious Heart Strengthening Juice for breakfast, get them up a little early and head out for a brisk walk.  Your heart is like any muscle in your body, you need to work it  regularly to keep it strong.

Over the course of an average lifetime, your heart will beat over 3 billion times, that’s a lot of beating! By doing regular exercise and incorporating plenty of fruit and vegetables into your diet you can help to ensure that your heart will stay healthy and strong, and that you will be around to buy the tacky hallmark cards and cheesy inflatable balloons for many more Valentines Days to come!
